Our world is still influenced by conflict situations both on individual level and on

international one.

Accordingly we are reading, watching and hearing lots of

information, and why not, also coming across such phenomena as intolerance,

violence, non-mutual understanding, racism, etc. Youth as a leading pulse of the

society has always had and should have its role for the protection and

dissemination against non-violent communication, act as peace makers or be

ambassadors of peace between different cultures. Hence youth workers from

different countries came up with the idea of the necessity of transforming the

neutral connotation of “Youth bulge” with “Youth surge” for the sake of peace.

The project “Peace through IN” is based on the topics of peace building,

intercultural dialogue, and non-violent communication. The name of the project

is not a coincidence as we, young people, strongly believe that the

dissemination of peace is possible through spreading and understanding the

concepts of culture, multiculturalism, non-violence, conflict management, etc.

We aim to create a group of participants from different countries and cultural

backgrounds to meet together and have a safe atmosphere where exchange

and dialogue can occur and be facilitated about the relevant topics.

Participants for the youth exchange are supposed to be young people 18-30

aged from Armenia, Austria, Georgia, Serbia, Slovenia and Spain, who are

interested in peace, non-violent communication, conflict management,

non-formal education and diversity.

The objectives of the project are:

-To raise awareness about peace, multiculturalism, conflict management and

resolution, non-violent communication among young people.

-To create an atmosphere of mutual understanding to prevent

intercultural conflicts

-To impulse inclusion of young people in community life for preventing

negative attitudes towards people from other cultures and countries

-To boost creative thinking as an outlet for spreading information

about the topic

-To contribute to make young people be more knowledgeable,

tolerant and peaceful

-To be part of the promotion and development of non-formal learning
